POP WEEKLY

Pop Weekly was one of Albert Hand’s (of Elvis Monthly fame) most successful publications of the mid 1960s. It was preceded by Pop Ten Monthly (page ). The first issue came out on 1st September 1962 and ceased with the 12th February 1966 issue. This small and very collectable magazine brought readers the latest, up-to-the-minute news on all things POP. Artists and groups of the day together with great (and on many occasions exclusive) photographs of the stars. Elvis was well represented both within its pages and on the front cover. For the first few years the cover usually carried a single artist but the latter issues carried multiple artists on the covers. Following its demise it was incorporated into Pop Shop and Teen Beat, yet another of Albert Hand’s many music publications. Though Elvis’ name appeared on Pop Shop and Teen Beat no copies have been found with his image on the cover/
